New Found Love - The Plaited Pompadour (Alternative)

Pompadours have been trending on natural and straight hairstyles for a few years

Are you sometimes a little timid to try some of the beautiful pompadours that have been all the craze in the past few years? I came up with an easy way to create a subdued pompadour look that is appropriate for work or play, any day of the week. Here is my take on the big poof called the pompadour.

It's high, but not too high and you can make it flatter if you choose. Wanna know how I did it? Keep reading.

Alternative bang-style pompadour on natural hair.

Step 1
Section off the hair for the pompadour.

Step 2
Cornrow or flat-twist the hair going forward.

Step 3
Twist the end plait or twist unto itself in a pincurl and pin the hair in place to secure it. Try to keep pins as hidden as possible. I use an average of 3 pins to ensure that everything stays in place.

Yep. It's that easy. Try it on locks, twisted or even braided hair for a new look this weekend. Were you inspired by this post or have a hairstyle idea? Don't hesitate to share, comment or send in your pics to editor@keepitkinky.net to be posted on the blog or on Facebook.
